TESTING METHODS

We focus on industrial standard testing for assessing the performance of textiles, plastics and coatings treated with antimicrobial agents.

MIS performs its tests according to following testing methods:

  • ISO 20743/JIS L 1902 – Determination of Antibacterial Activity of Antibacterial
    Finished Products (Textiles)

  • AATCC-100 – Antibacterial Finishes on Textile Materials:
    Assessment

  • ASTM E2149 – Standard Test Method for Determining the Antimicrobial
Activity of Immobilized Antimicrobial Agents Under
    Dynamic Contact Conditions

For these tests, MIS keeps a wide range of required organisms available. Typical is testing for Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. We can test for other microorganisms as well. Please consult us about special organisms required. In order to safely handle these organisms the laboratory area complies with the Class 2 standard.

Is your product very different from others on the market, or does it have distinctive antimicrobial applications? In case standard test methods are inappropriate to validate its effect, you might like to consider a custom antimicrobial efficacy test. We assist you in determining the right test for your project, from microbiology consulting to interpretation of results.
